Job Types and Job Categorisation
When logging a Call or a Quote or a Job you will be asked to categorise the work type into one of 8 categories.
Although these categories are fixed currently, they will be user defined in a release planned during 2025.
The currently fixed categories are as follows and are intended to cover the work cycle from initial installation through any remedial and change type work and onto Contract and Service Management as follows:
Step | Job Type | Description |
1 | INSTALLED | Initial installation of a system |
2 | CHANGE | Subsequent changes to that system (reconfigure or addition) |
3 | FAULT
| Remedial work to fix a fault as a result of system malfunction |
4 | SERVICE | Proactive and planned maintenance as part of a service contract/subscription |
5 | NON SCHEDULED SERVICE | A service undertaken which is not as part of a contract |
6 | PATROLLING
| Patrolling style activity at a site to ensure security of assets |
7 | RELOCATE
| Relocation of a system from one address to another or within the installations site |
8 | STANDARD | Catch All Job Type to allow for any other or miscellaneous type of work not captured in the 7 step work cycle

A scheduled service will be use to calculate the next Scheduled Service Date (based on the contract/subscription) and to track the number of services outstanding against a contract.

A Non Scheduled Service will have no impact on the next Scheduled Service Date or on the Services Outstanding
